ABOUT THE BOOK:
Qurrat al-'Ayn bi Muhimmat al-Din is perhaps one of the later day shafi'i fiqh manuals to have enjoyed attention from scholars of the subcontinent, Africa, Asia and as well as Sham and Yemen. The book is rendition from the larger works in the madhab but meant to introduce easily to the students what the major works couldn't. The book starts from Chapter of Salah and ends with Chapter of I'taq.
ABOUT THE FATH AL-MUBIN:
Fath al-Mubin bi Sharh Qurrat al-'Ayn is the authors expression after having received much feedback about his minor text Qurrat al-'Ayn. He mentions how he saw the benefit in illustrating in greater detail but not too detailed the content of his smaller work. He finished this commentary on a Friday 24th of Ramadan 982 Hijri.
ABOUT THE COMMENTARIES ON THE FATH AL-MUBIN:
This work gained some quite allot of popularity as mentioned earlier by the Shafi'i fuqaha and they have extensively annotated and further added super commentaries. Some of the popular ones are;

ABOUT IMAM ZAYN AL-DIN AL-MALIBARI:
He is Zayn al-Din Ahmed b. Abd al-Aziz al-Malibari, al-Fannani, al-Ma'bari, al-Misri, one of the scholars of tenth century Hijri. He was born in the Malabar region, South India. It was not known exactly, when Imam al-Malibari was born and also his death has various opinions surrounding it. It was said he died around 970 to 990 Hijri. al-Malibari was buried next to the Jami' Masjid of Funnan.
He was born in a house of knowledge and his family have a long tradition of scholars. His granfather, al-'Allamah Zayn al-Din b. Ali b. Ahmed Abu Yahya, author of the Irshad al-Qushidin Mukhtasar Minhaj al-Abidin. His grandfather raised him in knowledge and piety and al-Malibari looked up to him and praised him frequently. He quickly became adapt in the sciences of fiqh, Shafi'i fiqh in which he excelled in and thereafter he became expert in science of Tasawwuf, history. al-Malibari was known to be very critical and consist over the forbidding of evil and recommending the good, he had firm stance and resolve. He was given posts such as of Judge, senior adviser to rulers. He never wavered in convictions where ever he was and or whatever high post he held.
He studied under the following scholars and was hugely impacted by them;

--- 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abd al-Karim b. Ibrahim Wajih al-Din Ibn Ziyad (d. 975),
--- Abd al-Aziz b. Ali al-Shayrazi az-Zamzami (d. 976),
--- Muhammad b. Muhammad b. Muhammad al-Bakri al-Sadiqi (d. 994).

As mentioned earlier, we cannot say for certain when exactly was the date he died but it was generally agreed upon that it was around 970 to 990 Hijri. al-Malibari was buried next to the Jami' Masjid of Funnan.
