ABOUT THE BOOK:
Umdat Al-Ahkam contains some of the most authentic Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They are chosen from Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. They are listed according to their topics of the Islamic Law so that the scholars can extract and deduce Islamic rulings from them easily. 'Umdat al-Ahkam is one of the popular smaller manuals on fiqhul Hadith, originaly penned down as a Hanbali manual. Compiled from the Sahihayn, this work and that of Bulugh al-Maram has been used and explained by scholars of various madahibs.
This print is aimed to be used in teaching and or student sessions with a teacher. It has notes section one each page, thereby allowing the student plenty space for notes from the lessons. There is no additional editorial notes nor any other comments. The prophetic words are coloured red so as to distinguish from the other parts of the Hadith text.
ABOUT IMAM 'ABD AL-GHANI AL-MAQDASI:
He is ‘Abd al-Ghanī ibn ‘Abd al-Wāḥid al-Jammā’īlī al-Maqdisi was a scholar and a prominent Hadith master. His full name was al-Imam al-Hafidh Abu Muhammad Abdul-Ghani ibn Abdul-Wahid al-Jammaʻili al-Maqdisi al-Hanbali. He was born in 541 AH (1146 CE) in the village of Jummail in Palestine. He studied with scholars in Damascus; many of whom were from his own extended family. He studied with many scholars including the Imam of Tasawwuf, Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani. He was the first person to establish a school on Mount Qasiyun near Damascus.
Al-Maqdisi was an expert in the field of hadith, among his writings are:
--- Al-Kamal fi Asma 'al-Rijal , a book about the biography of the narrators. The Book of mentioning the names of the narrators of hadith kutub al-sittah (six books of hadith) that Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Sunan Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah. The book is a source of writing all the books written about the names and biographies of hadith narrators.
--- 'Umdat al-Ahkam , compilation book of hadiths Jurisprudence. Umdatul Ahkam, referring to two kinds; namely Umdatul Ahkam as-Sughra (small), the book collections of hadiths fiqh of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim; and Umdatul Ahkam al-Kubra, a book which collects the hadiths legal sourced from kutub al-sittah .
--- Al-Misbah Fi 'Uyuni al-ahadith as-Sihah , which includes the hadiths of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.

and many other works. He died in 600 AH (1203 CE).
