ABOUT THE BOOK:
Collection of short 94 poems written in Somalia as well as outside. The authors experiences and life cycle is reflected in his words artistically portrayed in this book. It has many subjects from simple love poems, to the woes of a Nomad, to armed fighter, to an Africanist painting African love.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Abdirahman Mirreh was born in Hargeisa in what was then British Somaliland. He spent in his early years inAden, South Yemen, where he attended school and learned English. As a young man in his twenties he spent three years working and studying in Sheffield, England, before going back home to a now independent Somalia. By 1964 he was travelling again to Europe, this time with scholarship to the university of Leipzig, where he obtained a Master's degree in Agriculture and later Doctorate in Anthropology. During this period he also spent almost three years working and studying in Norway. In 1979 Abdirahman left Europe to work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia until 1982, when he returned to his native country to become involved in farming.
